The Story Behind Lindsey Watson Designs
Hi, I’m Lindsey Watson, the designer and creative mind behind Lindsey Watson Designs. Horses and fashion have always been a part of my life, and my journey to creating elegant, high-end horse show clothing started long before I officially launched my brand.
Every great brand has a story, and mine began in the show ring at a young age. I started my horse show journey at just seven years old in Walk-Trot, where I fell in love with the sport, the competition, the people, and the artistry of western horse show fashion. I worked alongside my mom, Vicki, designing and sewing my own show clothes, carefully choosing fabrics, rhinestones, and details that would bring my vision to life. Those early years of creativity shaped my passion for design. As I grew as a rider, so did my passion for the elegance and precision of Western Pleasure, which led me to compete at the highest levels with my incredible horse, Zippos Cat Bar - “Cat.”
Cat and I made unforgettable memories in the arena, earning multiple Top 10 placings at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Western Pleasure. Through years of competing, I learned firsthand the importance of feeling confident in the show ring - and I quickly realized that the right show attire played a major role in that. When it was time for me to leave for college, there was no way I was leaving my best friend, Cat behind - so he came with me to Lubbock!
But my passion for design didn’t start and end with horses. From a young age, I had a deep love of drawing and painting, constantly sketching ideas and bringing them to life. With a background in fine arts, I developed a keen eye for color, detail, and composition, which naturally translated into my love for creating show clothing.
My journey took me to Texas Tech University, where I earned a Bachelor of Interior Design, further refining my skills in design, spatial composition, and aesthetics. Today, I bring that same artistic vision and attention to detail into every garment I create.
Today, LWD is built on those same principles: quality, sophistication, and originality. My goal is to create stunning, handcrafted show clothing that not only looks beautiful but also gives riders the confidence to shine in the show ring as I did when I stepped in with Cat. Whether you’re starting out at your local shows or competing on the national stage, I want to design something that makes you shine. Every piece is designed with precision, care and a touch of sparkle - because show clothes should be as unforgettable as the moments they’re worn it.
